Description
Illustrated title page showing an exterior view of the factory complex for the file Works "established in 1863" in Richmond. Shows clerks and laborers moving and loading crates on to a company horse-drawn wagon parked in front of the office building. Individuals stand in the doorway of the building that is adorned with signage containing the name of the company and proprietors. In the rear of the office, the "File Factory" with several operating smokestacks, one adorned with a model of the company trademark, stands. Figures are seen in a window and door of sections of the edifice. At a two-story building, adjacent to the office, a worker carries planks of wood through the door. Also shows a "Richmond & Exchange" horse-drawn omnibus filled with passengers passing in the street.
