Notes |
This picturesque grist mill, somewhat better known as "Marshall's," was located in Delaware County, on Naylor's Run, near
the village of Cardington, in Upper Darby. It was built, as indicated by a date stone embedded in its wall, in the year 1799.
It was owned by John Sellers. whose son, Nathan, and the latter's son, of the same name, operated it to 1833, when it was
bought by Louis Watkins. Other owners or tenants identified with the mill were John Lampkin, Van Lear Bond, Joseph Powell
and John H. Lewis. The greater part of the mill was removed many years ago in order to straighten the roadway.
