| Description |
Daniel Carlin, born circa 1826 in Pennsylvania, worked as a lithographer in Philadelphia between 1852 and 1866. In 1855 Carlin
was employed by P. S. Duval & Co. at their 5 Ranstead Place establishment. By the late 1850s, the United States Custom House
employed Carlin, as a "day inspector," and it is unclear if he performed any lithographic work for them.

the household, with two sons, Charles (b. 1850) and George W. (b. 1853), both employed in the printing trade.
