August Kohl, born ca. 1844 in Holland, worked as a lithographer in Philadelphia in 1880. He resided at 335 East Little Crown
(i.e., China) Street with Charles Burk and family in Ward 12. Kohl has previously been conflated with lithographer-turned
druggist August Hohl, born in Germany in 1845, who in 1880 operated a drug store at the northeast corner of Fourth Street
and Girard Avenue and resided with his wife in Ward 12.
