Description Depicts copies of the painting created by John Trumbull circa 1819, showing members of the Second Continental Congress gathered in the East Room of Independence Hall signing the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. John Adams, Robert Sherman, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin stand before John Hancock, the President of the Continental Congress.
