Description
Contains images of the trolley strike that began in Chester in 1908. The Chester Traction Company decreased pay rates dramatically in response to falling revenue. The Amalgamated Association of Street Railway Employees reacted by shutting down public trolleys from Philadelphia to Wilmington. Images depict striker's on parade, a mob attacking strike-breakers on a car, striker's soliciting funds and mounted police in action.
