Description
Views depict the Ralston estate known as "Mount Peace" located near St. James the Less and the junction of Nicetown Lane and Lamb Tavern Road. One image shows an open field and farm building in the foreground and larger dwellings and outbuildings in the distant background. The other depicts a man sitting in the grass next to a winding tree-lined path. Probably photographed before the Odd Fellows Cemetery Company purchased the land to build Mount Peace Cemetery (adjacent to Mount Vernon Cemetery) on the site in 1865-66.
