Interior view showing relics and furniture belonging to Stephen Girard in Founder's Hall, constructed 1833-1847 in the Greek
Revival style after the designs of Philadelphia architect Thomas Ustick Walter, at 1201-1211 West College Avenue. Relics include
an architectural model of Founder's Hall enclosed in a glass case, a large orrery in the middle of the room, chests, chairs,
and paintings. Girard College was established through a bequest from Stephen Girard, a Philadelphia financier and philanthropist,
for the creation of a school for "poor white orphans."
