Description
View showing the post office and courthouse completed in 1863 under the supervision of builder John Ketcham at 426-428 Chestnut Street. Includes a partial view of the Custom House at 420 Chestnut Street constructed in 1818 after designs by William Strickland. Heavy pedestrian traffic, including women carrying parasols, and horse-drawn carriages and coaches travelling along Chestnut Street are also visible.
