Hillside view looking east from lawyer John Bannan's "Cloud Home" in Pottsville, Pa., showing the Henry Clay monument erected near Centre Street in 1855 on land donated by Bannon. Includes the townscapes of Palo Alto and Port Carbon in the distance.

A.M. Allen, born in Deerfield, Mass., relocated to Pottsville, Pa. ca. 1852 and set up his studio at the southwest corner of West Market and North Centre Streets. He retired from the business in 1894.
