Description
View showing the German Peace Jubilee procession in celebration of the German victory in the Franco-Prussian War. Procession includes several horse-drawn carriages carrying parade dignitaries. Spectators crowd the sidewalks and the balcony of the office building Jayne's Hall (625-631 Chestnut). Bunting, as well as signage advertising a dry goods store and W.G. Spencer & Co., notions, is visible on the building. Also shows a partial view of Joseph Monier's bookbinding establishment at Seventh and Chestnut.
