Description
Views show the rear of St. George's House, one of three half-timber buildings constructed by the English Commission for the Centennial. Designed by British architect Thomas Harris, the building was used for the offices of the English Commissioners during the fair and later as a residence for park employees until its demolition in 1961. The fair celebrated the centennial of the United States through an international exhibition of industry, agriculture, and art.

Photographer's imprint printed on mounts and on versos. Imprint on versos contains initials "CPC" in decorative border surmounted by date range 1776-1876.
