Description
View showing the Point Breeze Gas Works at Passyunk and Schuylkill avenues near the Schuylkill River. The gas works, the second Philadelphia gas producing facility, was built in the Gothic style between 1851 and 1854 after the designs of Philadelphia engineer, John C. Cresson. Shows several buildings with pitched roofs and quatrefoil windows as well as river frontage for the reception of coal barges.
