Exterior view from the north east showing the Public Ledger building and other commercial establishments along the south side of the 600 block of Chestnut Street. Depicts the western corner of the State House covered with theater broadsides. The Ledger building was constructed 1866-67, based on designs by Philadelphia architect John McArthur Jr.
