Bust-length portrait of the abolitionist leader, Ohio Senator, statesman, Lincoln's Secretary of the Treasury, and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Chase, attired in a white collared shirt, a black bowtie, waistcoat, jacket, and judge's robe, faces slightly left.
