Exterior view of front facade of dwelling once home to Philip R. Freas, who established the Village Telegraph (i.e. Germantown Telegraph) in 1830. His office was in the small building next door. Edward Albert's produce shop occupies the old dwelling in this photograph. Includes Samuel Gordon's boot shop at 5149 1/2 Main Street (i.e. Germantown Avenue). Pedestrians browse the shops along the block.
