Membership certificate for the society "established at Philadelphia for the advice and assistance of English men in distress" containing a view of Dover, England. Depicts men dragging a boat on to the coastline near the white cliffs, Dover castle, and piers. Ships sail on the turbulent waters. Also contains a blue ribbon adorned with the seal of the society. The society also aided the wives, widows, and children of members and sought to "promote social intercourse among members." Not in Wainwright. Issued to John F. Smith on February 13, 1875.
