Description
Exterior view of the orphanage (constructed 1861-1863). Founded by Eliza H. Burd as an orphanage for girls under the management of St. Stephen's Protestant Episcopal Church on Tenth Street in Philadelphia. Located near Cobbs Creek in Delaware County on the border of Philadelphia, the property is bounded by Walnut and Market Streets, and Powell and 63rd Streets.
