POSP 135
The Lithographic Printers Union was instituted on February 28, 1854. Copy of their "Constitution and By-Laws for 1857" in the collections of the German Society of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pa. Fred C. Munson, "History of the Lithographers Union," p. 1, suggests that a lithographic trade union existed in Philadelphia as early as 1843.
