Contains architectural images and copies of paintings depicting Independence Hall and the leading politicians associated with the Declaration of Independence. Architectural images include exterior views of the front facade on Chestnut Street; oblique views of the state building from Fifth and Sixth Streets and the rear elevation facing Independence Square showing the Commodore Barry Monument designed by Samuel Murray in 1908. The overwhelming majority of interior views portray the room where the Declaration of Independence was signed, also called the Assembly Room, Philadelphia Room, Declaration Chamber and Independence Chamber. Others include the banquet room, Supreme Court room, main stairway and the ballroom. Paintings include portraits of Robert Morris, Richard Henry Lee, Samuel Huntingdon, Thomas McKean and Benjamin Franklin and the signing of the Declaration by these iconic figures. Also depicted is a popular series called the Cradle of Liberty, a collage of exterior and interior images of Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell and George Washington., Contains 188 postcards printed in color and 97 printed in black and white. Wilson and Alexander C. Shand. Construction of bridge was one of many factors that enabled the implementation of a direct route from West Philadelphia to New York City. Includes trains travelling east and west over the bridge. Depicts several entrances to Fairmount Park including the Lemon Hill (Callowhill Street) entrance showing a woman admiring William Rush's seven and one-half feet tall Water Nymph and Bittern fountain sculpture (1809) and the marble Frederick Graff Memorial (commissioned in 1844); the Dauphin Street entrance to the park showing another fountain sculpture located near Strawberry Mansion at Thirty-third and Dauphin Streets; the winding entrance path to the Spring Garden Street entrance; Emmanuel Fremiet's Joan of Arc statue marking the entrance to the Fairmount Park at 25th Street and Kelly Drive and the entrance near the Sunken Gardens and Horticultural Hall, showing vehicular traffic and pedestrians. Exterior view of front facade of the colonial mansion, Laurel Hill located on Edgeley Drive at the corner of Fairmoutn Avenue. The central portion of the house was built circa 1767, the single story addition circa 1800 and the octagonal wing after 1837. Built for Rebecca Rawle and her second husband, Samuel Shoemaker. The house was purchased by physician Philip Syng Physick in 1828 and it passed to Physick's daughter Sarah Randolph who in turn sold it to the Fairmount Park Commission in 1869. The Commission used it for employee housing from 1869-1901 and then leased it to two organizations, The Colonial Dames of America and later the Women for Greater Philadelphia, who opened it to the public., Numbered 11229 on recto., Also known as Laurel Hill and Joseph Shute House., Sheet number: 81A01., Divided back., Digitized with funding from a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (PW-506-19-10), 2010-2012.

Depicts the statue of Religious Liberty symbolized by a classical figure wearing a cap with a border of thirteen stars representing the Colonies. She holds the Constitution of the United States in her left hand and raises her right hand above Faith, represented by a youthful figure holding the lamp of Religion. Designed by Moses Jacob Ezekiel in 1876 in honor of the Centennial anniversary. Also includes views of the cactus beds surrounding the base of the monument., Contains 5 postcards printed in color and 1 printed in black and white., Statue commissioned by B'nai B'rith and dedicated in 1876.
