- Exterior view depicting the two-and-a-half story antique shop of James Eham, an African American, at 1237 Pine Street. Shop is heavily adorned with antiques and curiosities, including cigar store Native Americans, ship models, and weather vanes. Candlesticks and a menorah are displayed in the first floor windows. Eham, born enslaved in Virginia, settled in Philadelphia in 1876 and soon after became an antiques dealer. By 1927, he owned two antique stores in Philadelphia and one in New York. - Depicts an older African American woman, with a stern expression, her arms crossed in front of her body, standing next to her brick home at Jessup and Irving Streets in Philadelphia. According to the photographer, the home is "a good example of a skilled mechanics home - the middle class of from 60 to 80 years ago," and that the woman was coaxed in to allowing the photograph after he described her house as "quaint" and she as "beautiful." Today this house is connected to the one behind it on Quince Street. Plaques on Quince Street house list builder of both buildings as Henry Vollum in 1813; the architect of additions and alterations made in 1924 was Wetherill P. - Depicts a group of men harvesting hay in the field behind Stouton. Three African American men stand on and near a horse-drawn cart overloaded with hay, while a white man and two boys stand near a horse-drawn plow, operated by a man neatly attired in a long shirt and tie. Stouton, the former country seat of William MacPherson, was inhabited by the Webster family beginning in 1805., William MacPherson was the son of Captain John MacPherson (1726-1792) from Edinburgh. William served as lieutenant for the British army during the first year of the Revolutionary War, but joined the Colonial army under the leadership of Lafayette. Appointed surveyor of the Port of Philadelphia in 1789 and commanded the Philadelphia battalion, the "MacPherson Blues", during the Whiskey Insurrection in 1794. Married Margaret Stout and resided at their country seat "Stouton". Site later named MacPherson Park., Attributed to John H. Webster but may have been taken by other Webster family members.

Webb, born in England, worked in Philadelphia as a photographer by 1880. He continued in the profession through 1900. By the time of his death in 1927, he worked as a clerk for William H. Horstmann, a dress trimmings, military and regalia manufactory.

- Collection of views of the campus and the outlying areas of the African American vocational school organized by Booker T. Washington in Tuskegee, Alabama. Established in 1881 as a normal school for Black teachers, the school relocated in 1882 to an abandoned plantation and evolved into a co-educational vocational school active within the local community. The institute trained students in academic and industrial subjects including farming, dairy work, masonry, sewing, nursing, bible studies, and agricultural science. The majority of the campus was constructed by the students., Contains exterior views of several campus buildings including the Men's Industrial Building; the women's or Alabama Hall, and Phelps Hall containing the bible training school, as well as workshops, the brick kiln, the chapel, and Booker T. Washington's house. Also depicts scenes and portraits of daily life at and near the school including W.V. Chambliss, faculty member in charge of the dairy herd; a group portrait outside a nearby "Negro school house"; use of "the well" by whites and Blacks; teams of horses and oxen steered by students; and a "dress parade" and "inspection" of uniformed male students. Freed in Virginia by Lawrence, a military nurse, Fannie was publicized as the "redeemed slave child" baptized by Henry Ward Beecher at Plymouth Church in Brooklyn in May 1863.
