Depicts the Pennsylvania Railroad Market Street Bridge over the Schuylkill River from the water level looking up at the girders of the red metal bridge and the stone piers to the opposite bank where a coal yard is located. When the Market Street permanent bridge was destroyed by a fire in 1875 the Pennsylvania Railroad built a temporary bridge in nine days.
