- 5793.F.33a contains inscriptions about ream price., Originally part of McAllister scrapbooks of Civil War miscellanies and materials related to George McClellan., Seven of the collection trimmed., Collection includes ream wrappers for ruled note paper from Ellsworth Mills; Fremont Mills; McClellan Mills; Parsons Paper Co. (Holyoke, Mass.); and S.C. Upham (Philadelphia, Pa.). Also includes two "Union Note Paper" wrappers issued from unidentified sources. Majority of wrappers contain ornate borders and patriotic designs including eagles, the figure of Liberty, portraits of Elmer Ellsworth and George McClellan, and military iconography.

- Created postfreeze., Originally part of a McAllister scrapbook of Civil War miscellanies., Uncut sheets, including a half-sheet, of 24 letter and envelope labels containing patriotic slogans in support of the Union. Mottoes exalt death for one's country, the preservation of the union, the constitution, and the American flag as well as predictions of death and doom for traitors. Small number of labels also contain illustrations, including flags, a snake, and a gallows.

- Originally part of a McAllister scrapbook of Civil War views., View of the Civil War armored vessel, with full sailing rig, out at sea. Also includes the names and titles of the "Officers of the U.S.S. Frigate 'New Ironsides'" and figures for the dimensions, weight, horse power, and armament of the ship below the image. Ship commissioned by the U.S. Navy in 1862 and built by Philadelphia machinists Merrick & Sons and shipbuilders Cramp & Sons. Ship destroyed by fire on December 16, 1866.

- Title supplied by cataloguer, Originally part of a McAllister scrapbook of Civil War miscellanies., Pattern containing explanatory text, cutting and sewing directions, patriotic vignettes, and advertisements. Vignettes show the figure of liberty, flags, a soldier, eagle, shield, and George Washington. Text explains the efficiency of women sewing cloth mittens by machine; the availability at E.W. Carryl & Co. of the pattern and free cloth remnants supplied by the U.S. Arsenal; and the receipt of the mittens by the "Philadelphia Ladies Aid Society." Advertising text promotes printed military supplies available at King & Baird, including muster rolls, military blanks,and military manuals. Also contains a testimonial by G.H. Crossman, Deputy Quartermaster General, dated November 30th, 1861.

- Originally part of a McAllister scrapbook of Civil War miscellanies., Trimmed., Patriotic print, possibly a poster illustration, containing a central allegorical scene flanked by views of Civil War battlefields. Central scene shows men of all eras and trades, including a sailor with an American flag, raising their arms in salute to the Temple of Liberty elevated upon a rock in the background. Other figures include a farmer with a sickle, a veteran of the American Revolution, and a wagon driver. Also shows boughs of wheat and artisans tools. Battle views show soldiers, including Zouaves, charging, traveling on horseback, and firing a cannon. Variant of print often used as a Civil War envelope design.

Hacker in 1865., Retrospective conversion record: original entry, edited., Shows Lincoln raising a large American flag while upon a flag-draped platform in front of Independence Hall. Dignitaries stand near the president, a crowd of spectators, including men in trees, surrounds the platform, and guards protect the stage.

Display sponsors include the Fire Department, First Presbyterian Church, "Women's Mission" and the Penn Relief Association as well as local neighborhoods, towns, and counties including West Philadelphia, Germantown, Montgomery County, Chester County, Bethlehem, and Jenkintown. Displays include fancy goods, china, photographs & albums, books, canned fruit and confectionery, hardware, sewing machines, dolls, silhouettes, and silver. Exhibition also provided a table for the fair periodical "The Knapsack," a fruit stand, donation table, refreshment saloon, smoking saloon, and ladies dressing room.

Vignettes depict Grant as a "Cadet at West Point" and a "General Commanding"; "General Grant Cottage, Mt. McGregor, N.Y."; and "The Grant Monument, Riverside Park, N.Y." Also contains a portrait of Grant; an eagle holding a banner inscribed "E. Pluribus"; a scene showing Grant overseeing his advancing troops; and symbols of military life.

Companies include Pennsylvania Volunteers; Philadelphia Fire Zouaves (72nd Regiment, P.V.); the 119th Regiment, P.V.; and First Regiment Reserve Brigade, P.V. - Originally part of a McAllister scrapbook of Civil War miscellanies., Series of four, titled military-themed souvenir pies containing eight panels printed with illustrations corresponding to verse printed on the verso that promotes patriotism, bravery, honor, chivalry, duty and piety. Contains "History of The Soldier Lad Folded in What He Best Loves, The Stars and Stripes, Red, White, and Blue" depicting a soldier's tour of duty including his farewell to his family, his fighting in battle, his promotion to Captain, and his celebrated return home; "The Sailor Boy" depicting the life of a powder boy including a farewell to his mother, nightly prayers, performing bravely during battle, and a hero's welcome home; "The Soldier Boy" depicting a boy's life before and after entering the military including school studies, his father questioning his future profession, his joining the army as a drummer boy, and his father recognizing the honor in his son's brave service to protect his country; and "The Union Forts" depicting and describing the location of Fort Sumter, Fort Morgan, Fort Lafayette, Fort Wagner, Roanoke Island, Fort Donelson, and Fortress Monroe.

- Create postfreeze., Originally part of a McAllister scrapbook of Civil War Views, Places & Events., Trimmed., Bird's-eye view of the enclosed fort at at the Inner Harbor. Cannons line the walls of the facility and soldiers march the grounds. Also shows civilians promenading the streets, and cityscape, ports, and ships along the harbor in the background. Federal Hill was converted to military use in 1861 when the area was occupied under the command of General Benjamin F. Butler following the Riots of April 1861. The fort's cannons consequently pointed toward the city to suppress Southern sympathy.
