Depicts the entrance to the zoo, flanked by two pavilions built 1875-1876 after designs by Furness & Hewitt; the statue of The Dying Lioness designed 1873-1875 by Wilhelm Franz Alexander Friedrich Wolff near the entrance pavilions; a rustic bridge; a flower garden; the Carnivora House; the Monkey House near the lake; the Beaver dam; the shady walk showing fish pond; swan pond; the bird house; the interior of a flying cage in the bird house; the corner of a polar bear den and the zoo barn. Also includes views of bears, beavers, a dromedary (Arabian camel), sea lions, an elephant bathing, a bison herd, a rhinocerous, a white-tailed gnu (antelope), a hippopotamus, moneys, horses and a chimp.
