The hotel, established in 1867 on the former site of the Philadelphia, Wilmington and Baltimore Railroad Depot, was named after freight and express agent John Bingham. Building remodeled and expanded in 1890 and demolished in 1926. Also shows adjacent businesses on the south side of the 1000-1100 blocks of Market, including: a piano manufactory, drug store, and heater and range manufactory.
