- Scenic view of the uncovered Market Street Permanent Bridge commissioned by the Schuylkill Bridge Company and completed in 1805 after the designs of engineer Timothy Palmer. Depicts horse-drawn carriages, wagons, and pedestrians traversing the bridge, and ships and barges sailing on the Schuylkill River. In the foreground, a man works on his loaded sailing vessel. Contains inset of "The Bridge as it appears now covered." The bridge, covered later in 1805 after the designs of Owen Biddle and redesigned in 1850 by the Pennsylvania Railroad, was destroyed by fire in 1875., Retrospective conversion record: original entry, edited.

- Description
- Fashion advertisement containing two panelled scenes of 18 elegantly attired men, women, and children in a parlor and outdoor setting. Upper panel shows the parlor scene with 7 men, 2 boys and a woman socializing. Most of the men wear suits with striped pants, long coats, bow ties or a cravat and hold top hats and canes. The boys who cozy up to their seated father, wear a military style suit or a dress and pants. The woman, seated on a chaise lounge, wears a bonnet and holds a riding crop. Furnishings include a fireplace, mosaic carpeting, sofa, and a piano. Lower panel shows 7 men and a woman at an outdoor scene along the banks of the Schuylkill River across from the Blockley Almshouse and Schuylkill Permanent Bridge. The men wear fur-trimmed overcoats, a cloak with patterned lining, patterned pants, top hats, and a cap. Many hold canes or a riding crop and one man leans on a hitching post. The woman, turned to her side and her face obscured by a bonnet, wears a cloak and holds a muff. Most of the depicted men have some facial hair. - View of the Schuylkill Permanent Bridge built after the designs of Timothy Palmer and completed in 1805 at Market Street over the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia. Shows the stone, covered bridge spanning the Schuylkill River. Trees are visible along the river bank. Mitchell, 2022., William Constable (1783-1861) learned to draw as an apprentice in an engineering firm in Lewes, England. He traveled to the United States in 1806 and began taking painting lessons. He and his brother Daniel traveled America sketching and making watercolors. He returned to England in 1808.

- Depicts monument in the shape of an obelisk topped with a sundial which stood at the western approach to the Schuylkill Permanent Bridge at Market Street until 1840, when it was removed to 23rd and Market Streets. Inscriptions describing the bridge and it's construction from 1800 to 1805 decorate the four sides of the obelisk.
