Description: Although Wainwright suggests date of publication as circa 1855, date of circa 1854 is used since Rease relocated to the new business address of 97 Chestnut Street as of 1855., Contains two lines of text below the title advertising the manufactory's improved facilities., Advertisement depicting a corner view of the three building showroom and factory operated by the Schells from 1853 until 1856. J.E. Schell continued the business as J.E. Schell & Company starting in 1857. On Tenth Street, patrons enter the four-story storefront and mantle room adorned with signage and statuary displayed on a second floor veranda. At the corner, a coach waits, the disembarked African American driver standing at the ready. On Vine Street, behind the showroom, a family of passerbys admire the marble statuary, monuments, and headstones in the factory's fenced in yard. Factory laborers load a headstone onto a horse-drawn cart, inspect open crates lining the street, and review slabs of marble outside the factory's storage building. Partial views of adjacent buildings and the "10th" Street carriage are visible.

At its building on Tenth Street near Sansom Street, shown here c. 1855, faculty including Samuel D. Gross and Thomas D. Mütter gave instruction in topics such as surgery, materia medica, and obstetrics and diseases of women and children. The college, known today as Thomas Jefferson University, was the second in the country to open its own teaching hospital to foster student interaction with patients.

Title: Saint Stephen's Church, Philadelphia
Description: Interior views of the Protestant Episcopal church built 1822-1823 after the designs of William Strickland at 19 South 10th Street. Shows minister, presumably Rev. Henry William Ducachet, in his clerical robes at the ornate church altar, the communion table, stained-glass windows, plaques adorned with scripture, the baptismal fount sculpture, and partial views of galleries and pews. Also includes views of the ornate tomb of Philadelphia lawyer Edward Shippen Burd designed by architect Frank Wills and the Burd Family Monument designed by Carl Steinhauser in memory of Burd's children. In the center, an African American man, attired in a brimmed hat, a collared, zipped up jacket, an apron tied around his waist, pants, and shoes, leans on the open wooden door with signs that read, “Sale Arthur Boswell” and “Ice never fails.” The other wooden door has “coal” written in paint.
