Vignettes include views of country homes, trees in full foliage, vases of flowers, allegorical female figures for spring and fall, and children at play. Ovals bordered by notations that read age, stature, weight, complexion, eyes, hair, form, and education. Vignettes separated by floral and vine details. - Directory advertisement containing a montage of pictorial elements including a landscape view, and depictions of a Gothic-style church tower and bas-relief bust profile of Alois Senenfeder, the inventor of lithography. Landscape view includes a cow, horse, and sheep. Other details depict two cherubs reading a ledger near tools of the lithographic trade including a roller, paper, rag, scraper, and press. Floral and vinery ornamentations bordering a banner adorned with the firm's name and the bas-relief portrait also comprise the image. The Duval firm operated under the name P.S. - Frontispiece advertising the Philadelphia lithographic studio of P.S. Duval, which received an 1849 Franklin Institute medal for advancement in chromolithography. Contains allegorical, patriotic, romantic, and art-themed iconography. Includes a female allegorical figure, wearing a liberty cap, who holds a cornucopia under one arm, and raises a laurel wreath with the other. She stands on an American shield covered by a sword, palette, book, architectural plan, globe, and mallet. View shows cherubs playing and surrounded by instruments, including a cello, harp, trumpet, flute, guitar, and organ. Scene also includes sheet music resting on the floor and propped on a stand. The ornamental border includes a vignette, cherubs playing instruments (harp, cymbals, trumpet, flute), vinery, and floral details. Vignette shows a woman at a piano and a boy playing the flute at a recital in front of a small audience. Fiot began to publish music in 1835 with partner Leopold Meignan. The partnership operated until 1839. - Tradecard showing the three buildings comprising the Philip J. Lauber liquor and restaurant business at 24-26 South Fifth Street. The buildings, adorned with signage, include left to right: "Ph. Lauber Beer & Ale"; "Ph. Lauber Importer of Wines"; and "Ph. Lauber Restaurant" (partial view). Image also shows heavy street and pedestrian traffic. Men congregate at the doorway of the wine shop at which a horse-drawn cart loaded with wine barrels departs. A carriage, horse-drawn dray, men on horseback, and pedestrians travel in the street.
