View showing the Baptist church organized by Dr. William Staughton built 1811-1812 after the designs of Robert Mills on the 800 block of Sansom Street. Also shows two men standing in front of the church, the adjacent auction house, "Herkness Bazaar, horses, carriages, harnesses &c" (s.e. cor. 9th and Sansom), and the foundation for the Continental Hotel (built 1857-1860).
