Contains views and vignettes showing the Norfolk Lock Company, Centennial Exhibition buildings, and the Norwalk Lock Company display at the exhibition. Lock company view shows two trains traveling past the manufactory on opposite sides of intersecting tracks. Also shows a horse-drawn cart in the foreground and masts of ships in the background. Exhibition building vignettes depict Main Building, Machinery Hall, Horticultural Hall, and Memorial Hall. Exhibition display image shows several fair visitors around an ornate glass case with mounts lined with "Norwalk Lock Co." locks. View of the "Elks Greatest Parade" on South Broad Street during the 21st Annual Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Convention held in Philadelphia in 1907. Participants include a group dressed as minstrels in bowler hats and duster jackets and members attired all in white holding umbrellas. Spectators line the street. Description
Collection of business correspondence dated between September 25, 1861 and February 11, 1885, including billheads, letterhead, a form letter, and a prices current (February 2, 1874) containing ornate typography and vignette illustrations. Billheads and price current contain variant views of the exterior of the firm's storefront. Majority also show laborers loading and unloading horse-drawn carts in front of the building and the storefront adorned with a flag on the roof reading "Importer & Jobber." Items billed include opium, gum arabic, Pears glycerine soap, Warner's Safe Cure, Ayer's Pectoral, and chrome yellow oil masury. Letterhead illustration shows a medieval apothecary in his laboratory. He uses a flume to stoke a fire while surrounded by pharmaceutical apparatus, including beakers, a distillery, and mortar and pestle. Other correspondence relates to receipt of payments.
