A couple in bed coats sits on a chaise lounge. The man accompanied by a boy, attired in a military-style suit, talks to another man, wearing a suit with patterned pants. The woman talks with another lady attired in a bonnet, shawl, and full skirt. A third gentleman stands near two columns to the left. He wears a suit with a lavishly patterned vest and striped pants. On the opposite side of the columns, two women in evening dresses sit at a piano. One wears a feather in her hair and the other wears an elaborate up do with ringlettes on the side. Two men in evening suits join them. Furnishings also includes a framed painting and mosaic carpeting. Lower panel shows the outdoor scene. At the center of the panel, two men stand showing their backs as they peer at the countryside from the curtained window. They are flanked by two groups conversing in the parlor. On the left side, a woman attired in a bonnet, long pleated shirtwaist, and white gloves stands in the middle of two men attired in long jackets, vests, and neck ties. Eight of the nine men are attired in jackets, vests, cravats, top hats and canes. Some wear plaid and striped pants. One man, seated with sheet music in his lap and a stringed instrument by his side, is attired in an elaborate silk robe. The remaining men, most standing, converse in groups and study framed images hanging on the wall. The left image is a landscape, and the right depicts a portrait of an older man. Lower panel shows the New York Crystal Palace, an exhibition building designed by Georg Carstensen and German architect Charles Gildemeister and constructed for the Exhibition of the Industry of All Nations in New York City in 1853. View includes foot, carriage, and omnibus traffic. Couples, children and dogs stroll the grounds. In the foreground, flanking the view of the exhibition building, are six figures, including a gentleman standing with his back shown, looking at a woman on a horse and a boy holding a watering can. - Panoramic group portrait photograph depicting over one hundred African American men and women, of all ages, at a testimonial banquet of the Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of the World for Eugenia Neal (1873-1949). The attendees, attired in evening wear, sit at rows of tables and a few booths in the right of the room. Attendees wear suits, tuxedos, and evening and cocktail dresses. Most of the sitters do not smile and face the camera. Some are turned away or eating. Some of the men wear their I.B.P.O.E.W. fezzes. In the right background, one woman has an arch of flowers over her. The tables are covered in white tablecloths and lined with plates of food, serving platters, and silver pitchers. In the background, at the back of the room, a small band of men musicians is seated next to a woman at a piano. Streamers and a paper bell adorn the ceiling. The O.V. Catto Elks Lodge began in 1903 as a chapter of the Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of the World established in 1897 with a mission to "practice charity by providing and performing charitable services in our communities throughout the world and by promoting harmony, friendship, and unity among our esteemed members." By 1926, the Lodge had over 3000 members, and in 1929, it relocated to a new building that included a boxing ring, basketball court, and rooftop garden, at 16th and Fitzwater. Eugenia Neal, born Eugenia Brisby in Virginia, worked as a typesetter in Philadelphia by 1920. Married to Moses Neal in 1896, the couple resided in Atlantic City before relocating to Philadelphia by 1910. As a Daughter Ruler, Neal lead the Keystone Temple with her male counterpart, Exalted Ruler, and "under their leadership, all Elks shall show[ed] truth in activities and live[d] to help others, while promoting Brotherly and Sisterly Love to all.", Title and date from item.

Shows a Philadelphia street scene with an African American peddler and an African American shoe shiner. In the left, the peddler, attired in a wide-brimmed hat, waist coat with tails, and pantaloons carries a basket and exclaims, "Philadelphia Uly 14, 1825 & little arter." The shoe shiner, attired in a waistcoat and pants, holds a rack of boots and responds "That is de day ob de grand Celebrahsun." The men stand in profile. - Description
- Fashion advertisement containing two panelled scenes of 20 elegantly attired men, women, and children in a parlor and outdoor setting. Upper panel shows the parlor scene. Eight men, a woman, and a boy socialize in clusters of three and four. The men and boy wear suits, many with paisley-patterned pants, and the woman wears a patterned dress with full skirt and tassels as well as a bonnet. A large mirror on a stand, several chairs, and chaise lounges furnish the room decorated with carpet, drapery, and wallpaper. Lower panel shows the outdoor scene set before "The New Masonic Temple, Chestnut St., Phila." Six men, including clothing store proprietor Francis Mahan, two girls , a boy, and a woman stand on the street block. Four of the men wear suits, including one with an overcoat. Another man, with a girl in a skirt and bloomers standing at his side, wears a hunting oufit and holds a rifle. The woman comprises part of a couple attired in riding outfits who are flanked by a boy dressed in a suit, a girl wearing a skirt and bloomers, and the man with the overcoat.
