Designed by architect Frank Furness, the Seaman's Home was built in 1878 at the northwest corner of Front and Queen Streets. Building began as a church for seamen and became a boys' club in the 1920s. It is also known by the names Church of the Redeemer for Seamen and their Families, Neighborhood Boy's Club, and Church of the Redeemer.
