Thomas Armat built Loudoun in 1801 and expanded it in 1810. The Greek portico on the front was added in 1830. Later, members of the Logan family owned and lived in the house. The property was donated to the city of Philadelphia in 1939 as a part of the Colonial Germantown Historic District.
