Originally part of a McAllister scrapbook of Civil War miscellanies., Series of four, titled military-themed souvenir pies containing eight panels printed with illustrations corresponding to verse printed on the verso that promotes patriotism, bravery, honor, chivalry, duty and piety. Contains "History of The Soldier Lad Folded in What He Best Loves, The Stars and Stripes, Red, White, and Blue" depicting a soldier's tour of duty including his farewell to his family, his fighting in battle, his promotion to Captain, and his celebrated return home; "The Sailor Boy" depicting the life of a powder boy including a farewell to his mother, nightly prayers, performing bravely during battle, and a hero's welcome home; "The Soldier Boy" depicting a boy's life before and after entering the military including school studies, his father questioning his future profession, his joining the army as a drummer boy, and his father recognizing the honor in his son's brave service to protect his country; and "The Union Forts" depicting and describing the location of Fort Sumter, Fort Morgan, Fort Lafayette, Fort Wagner, Roanoke Island, Fort Donelson, and Fortress Monroe.

Menu depicting an exterior view of the Far East Chinese Restaurant at 907-909 Race Street, Philadelphia built after the designs of Thomas Ustick Walter in ca. 1827 and later altered with 907 raised one story and 909 raised two stories. There are Chinese architectural details on the balcony and awning which reads, 907 Far East Chinese Cafe. The balconies are decorated with lanterns and plants. Two American flags and a Chinese Republic National Flag are on flagpoles on the restaurant. The cover has a border of bamboo plants. The menu is in English and organized with numbered dishes from 1 to 106 and “to avoid mistakes patrons are requested to order by number.” Categories are: “Soups”; “Chicken Specialties”; “Chop Suey”; “Boiled Soft Noodles”; “Beef Specialties”; “Pork Specialties”; “Chow Main”; “Omelettes and Eggs”; “Fried Rice”; “Sandwiches”; “Miscellaneous”; “Preserves, Cakes and Candies”; “Teas”; “Special Dishes”; and a prix fixe “Table d’Hote” with five different options and prices from 85 cents to $3 dollars per person. Menu notes that dining on the third floor incurs “an additional charge of five cents.” The menu also includes the hours of service and telephone number. Veterans from over one-hundred regiments and the orphan children of soldiers and sailors killed during the Civil War attended the ceremony officiated by Mayor General George G. Meade and Governor Andrew G. Curtin.

Pro-Union cartoon containing a montage of vignettes representing the consequences of secession, particularly the denigration of American freedom. Depicts Roman soldiers representing the "Demons of Nullification, Secession, and Treason" attacking the "Temple of Freedom," the edifice adorned with the names of Revolutionary heroes and battles. The allegorical army carries a "Flag of Disunion" inscribed "Liberty! [To Extend Slavery]," swords, spears, and torches. These soldiers of "war" and "rapine" trample upon the torn Constitution and American flag.
