Illustrated trade card depicting a boy pushing a lawn mower in the grass of the Sunken Gardens in the foreground and the southwest elevation of Horticultural Hall in the background. Also shows a fountain and a man guiding a horse-drawn mower. The exhibition hall was built in 1875 after designs by Hermann J. Schwarzmann in West Fairmount Park for the Centennial Exhibition, held in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park in 1876 to celebrate America’s one-hundredth anniversary of independence and to showcase the strengths of the country’s industry, manufactures, agriculture, and art.
