Depicts a car parked in front of The Kenwood, a mental sanatorium in Chestnut Hill. The building in the foreground was constructed in 1884 after designs by George Simpson. This newer building sits adjacent to the original house on the property (left), built circa 1860 as a private residence, then altered to The Eldon Hotel, one of three resort hotels in Chestnut Hill. The hotel occupied the property until 1910, when it was converted to the Kenwood mental sanatorium., Real photo. Divided back.
