The tramp-like figure is attired in a white cap, an orange scarf wrapped around his head and tied at his neck; a brown coat with the elbow torn open; oversized beige pants; and gray shoes. He looks to the left with his eyes as he stretches his hand down into his coat pocket. Eli P. Buckley (1831-1899) worked as a stationer at 3950 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA as early as 1858.
