Originally founded in 1850 as the Chestnut Street Female Seminary (in Philadelphia), the school moved to Elkins Park in 1883 and changed its name to the Ogontz School for Young Ladies. In 1917 it relocated to Rydal and became known as the Ogontz School until it closed in 1950 and gave the property to Pennsylvania State College., Negative number: 1351.
