Hood the Rebel commander finding himself completely outgeneraled; set fire to his stores, blew up his magazines and "skedaddled,"_Genl Slocum with the 20th Corps occupied the place and thus in the thrilling words of Sherman "Atlanta" is ours and fairly won!!
