Depicts a landing party with well-dressed African American emigrant men arriving to a crowd of male and female well-wishers and family at the palm-tree lined shore of the colony. New colonists depart the boat and run to relatives as Liberian men raise their hands in greeting. White sailors man the small boat. In the background, another landing party with new colonists sails from the transport ship. The settlement of Liberia is visible in the distance.
