Following the relocation of the congregation in 1870, the church was razed from the 100 block of North Fifth Street.

Title: Nutz's house "A very old stone house," writes Mr. Watson, "of two storys, owned and dwelt in by Nutz, a tanner, who had his tanyard along the street, southward. It is now a house resting some two feet or more below the street pavement but in former years (before the turnpike was laid there at a higher grade) " it had two steps upwards of entrance form the street. Title: Two of the killers
Description: View showing two outlandishly-attired members of the Philadelphia gang known as the "Killers" carousing on the street. One sits on a fire hydrant and the other leans against a lamp pole (posted with a "Sale" notice") at a street tenanted by a "Grocery" and adorned with broadsides. The men wear patterned pants, jackets with tails, oversized neck ties, and top hats. One also wears a pin adorned "K." They each have their hands in their pockets and smoke cigarettes. The grocery displays a barrel of brooms in addition to signs reading "Coffee Sugar Tea" and "Teas Coffee 5." The broadsides adorning the opposite building advertise "Auction this Evening" and "Circus The Old Man of the Mountain..... Dan Rice Clown." The playbill is illustrated with a scene of an equestrian trick. Title: The Butler Mansion, N.W. corner of Chestnut & Eighth Sts
Description: Exterior view of the former residence of Senator Pierce Butler built circa 1794 at 801-807 Chestnut. Shows the first floor and the brick wall of the dwelling covered in broadsides. Also shows a book vendor's stand installed in front of the property. Butler purchased the residence circa 1804 and resided in the dwelling until his death in 1822. The building remained in the Butler family as the boarding house, "Butler House," before its sale circa 1856 by Butler's grandson, Pierce Butler. Description: Advertisement showing the four-story storefront adorned with signage and displays on the 300 block of North 4th Street. Bottles, small boxes, and broadside advertisements, predominately for French cordials and bitters, fill the display window, and a large model cask with advertising text and stacks of labeled boxes flank the open entrance. Box labels include "Ysla de Cuba," "Assorted Cordials," "Glorias," "Habano." A clerk confers with a patron within the entrance as a laborer enters the cellar to continue to retrieve barrels of "Madeira No.1" and "Port," which line the sidewalk. In the street, a drayman departs with his delivery of a cask of "J. Hennesy [sic] & Co. Cognac." Description: Views predominately showing exteriors of the front and rear of the State House built 1732-1748 after the designs of Andrew Hamilton and Edmund Woolley. Also shows the old City Hall built 1790-1791 after the designs of David Evans, Jr. adorned with lettering reading "Mayors Office" (500 Chestnut); views of Congress Hall built 1787-1789 (540-558 Chestnut), including the building adorned with broadsides; partial views of the construction site for and the completed Public Ledger Building (built 1866-1867, 600-606 Chestnut), the rear gate entrance to Independence Square and the square; pedestrian traffic; horse-drawn wagons; and a guard. Housed in two phase boxes, including binding and index., Robert Newell, the prominent Philadelphia commercial photographer operated a studio from circa 1855 to 1900. His firm, which originally specialized in portraiture, later focused on "Artistic Business and Landscape Photographs" and was reorganized as R. Newell & Son circa 1872. In 1876, the studio (Robert and Henry Newell) issued a series of six viewbooks under the title "Old Landmarks & Relics of Philadelphia." Newell also produced series of stereographs during the 1860s depicting commercial streets, the volunteer fire companies, and views of Fairmount Park and local cemeteries, as well as invented acid proof photographic ware in the 1870s.

Title: Views of construction of New City Building, Philadelphia, John McArthur, Jr., architect
Description: Progress photographs of the early construction of City Hall built 1871-1901 on Penn Square after the designs of John McArthur, Jr. Photographs show different stages of the construction of the foundation and lower floor of the building between 1873 and 1875. Includes images of the dirt sub-basement; construction materials, equipment, and workers; and partially completed walls and abutments. Several of the views include scaffolding; horse-drawn carts; pulleys; piles of construction debris; and workers and well-dressed men, probably the commissioners, reviewing and posed on or near constructed parts of the building and construction materials. Views also show surrounding cityscape, including the west and south elevations of Masonic Temple (Broad and Filbert); the Pennsylvania Railroad freight depot (13th and Market); the towers of the gothic-style St. John the Evangelist Church (23-25 South 13th); West Penn Square Academy (s.w. corner of Market and Merrick); the spire of the Arch Street Methodist Episcopal Church (s.w. corner Broad and Arch); La Salle College High School (n.e. corner Broad and Filbert); and dwellings facing Penn Square.
