View showing the girls boarding school built 1837-1839 in Mount Joy, Pa. administered by Reverend Dodge. School located adjacent to the track between Harrisburg and Philadelphia on the Pennsylvania Railroad. Includes a fenced pasture near a gated path in the foreground and a train traveling in the background. Dodge operated the seminary, originally called Young Ladies Lyceum Institute, until the 1860s when it was closed during the Civil War.
