Series of whimsical illustrated trade cards depicting a male figure attired in a red, white, and blue scarf standing on a tree branch, reading a book as an ink stand with a feather falls from the tree and another male figure wearing a hat and ruffled collar standing on a reed, holding a hoop through which a frog leaps. Imagery also includes birds, frogs, a scythe, and an hourglass. Henry Dalley, Sr. began manufacturing "Dalley's magical pain extractor" in New York in 1839. Cornelius V. Clickener & Co. assumed control of the product name after Dalley's death in 1852. Henry Dalley, Jr. eventually regained control of his father's product in 1865, about five years after the dissolution of C.V.
