Press" and with the artist's credit line "From nature and on stone by W.E. Hitckcock [i.e. Hitchcock]." Students stroll on the lawn. A passenger train of the Philadelphia, Germantown, and Norrristown (later Philadelphia & Reading) Railroad passes in the foreground and a boat is moored on the river bank. The institute was established in 1845. This view issued shortly before the building underwent major renovation and enlargement 1852-1855.
