Description: Glass negative showing Phoebe Howell and Marriott C. Morris' sister Elizabeth Canby Morris sitting in a horse-drawn carriage. The carriage stands in front of Avocado, the Morris family's Victorian-style home with a large porch. Two men are on the porch in the background. Howell holds a parasol over herself and Morris. Both women wear long dresses and hats. Elliston Perot Morris bought property in Sea Girt, N.J. in 1875, where he built the summer home Avocado after designs by Quaker architect Hibberd Yarnall. Morris left Avocado, named after a Perot family estate in Bermuda, to his daughter Elizabeth Canby Morris in his will. It was sold in 1947 after her death.
