The Dana Troop, an independent cavalry company of the Pennsylvania Ninety-Day Militia, under the command of Capt. Richard W. Hammell, was organized under the direction of a committee of the Union League; it was mustered in July 2 and discharged Sept. 16, 1863. Cf. S.P. Bates.
