The Bryn Mawr or Keystone Hotel was built by the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1871 as a summer resort. The original building was razed by fire in 1887. A second hotel was built in 1890 after the designs of Frank Furness. The mortgage, however, was eventually foreclosed and the hotel ceased operations. The Baldwin School for Girls later bought the building., Photographer remarks: Fairly good but hotel is so far off that picture is not effective.
