Manager John Toy This beautiful intellectual entertainment, which surpasses anything hitherto presented to the citizens of West Chester, will be given at Horticultural Hall, on Friday, Saturday and Monday evenings, January 9th, 10th and 12th, 1863. Afternoon entertainment on Saturday, 10th inst., commencing at 3 o'clock, for the accommodation of families and schools. The stereopticon is a new and powerful apparatus--which, with the aid of the strongest artificial light that science has yet created, produces gigantic stereoscopic pictures! covering over 400 square feet of illuminated canvas ... At each entertainment, will be presented a choice selection, comprising the grandest and most attractive views of American and European scenery, ... The whole comprising the most noted objects of interest, as seen by travelers in a voyage around the world Each evening will be presented a number of interesting local views, choice specimens of monumental sculpture, &c., and statues and colossal portraits of eminent American heroes and statesmen! ... Grand exhibition on Saturday afternoon, at 3 o'clock, for schools and families, when children will be admitted for the low price of six cents. Grand historic mirror of the American war! The most exciting topic of the times! The only work of the kind in existence, sketched by eye-witnesses, and painted by the most eminent artists, under the supervision of the well-known Pearson Brothers, of New York. ... Mr. Robert Pearson, the principal artist, has made arrangements to add to this popular work, from week to week, all the principal events that may transpire in the prosecution of the war, having distinguished artists engaged to forward to him sketches and reports prepared on the spot. ... The unseemly daubs which are generally produced for public inspection, under the name of panoramas, have, in a great measure, shaken the confidence of the people; ... It is necessary, therefore, to inform all classes that this panorama has met with the most unbounded success, having been exhibited within the past few months, in Philadelphia, to not less than 75,000 spectators
