Print commemorating the Washington Monument after the designs of Robert Mills and constructed 1848 to 1884 in Washington, D.C. In the center, shows the original designs created by Mills of a large obelisk with a colonnaded building at the base. On top of the building's portico are sculptures of Washington standing in a chariot holding the reins of six horses. Flanking the staircase leading to the monument are sculptures of Patrick Henry and Jefferson. In the background, the White House and U.S. Capitol building are visible. Numerous pedestrians walk around the monument and other landmarks. An eagle soars through the air in the left.
