Morris' second cousin once removed Lydia Thompson Morris leans on a fencepost near the gate. Built by Elizabeth Coates Paschall in 1748-1750, Cedar Grove was a summer retreat and home for the Paschall-Morris family into the nineteenth century. The last family owner, Lydia Thompson Morris, lived in the house from 1869 to 1888.
